Today is Thursday

No its not top gun, its just a cheap used car salesman wanting to trade in on a movie made almost 20 years ago - the logic there? ummmmm......... (and yes I had to do the logo design)

Who does your foodland colouring in competition? Certainly not a skilled illustrator

Reflections on your thoughts

I agree. I also think that you can let go, although only some people are capable of surviving without being in constant communication. Its interesting that people dont understand when you dont answer your phone, god forbid you dont carry it around with you everywhere - in the shower, to hang the washing up, to go to a friends house. I must admit I still enjoy being able to be contacted this easily, as it is a means for a more spontaneous lifestyle but I am occasionally still a victim of that insecurity when I send an SMS or voice mail and don't get a reply within the next 2 hours (or something equally ridiculous).

That said, I am letting go. SMS/voice mail/etc should only be a means to contact a person - not to pour your heart out or hinge your whole weekends activities on. You can discuss these things when you actually speak - or better still, see the person - where communication is more than words on a screen or a monotone voice through a speaker.
I resolve to use the communication only as a tool for real experiences with people. Please join my crusade.

some thoughs of mine

I think now adays our communication with each other has increased through such things as the internet (chat, email & bloggs) and mobile phones(always avaliable, sms). However due to these things our society, especially the younger type, have become more and more insecure. The expectation of immediate response creates an insecurity if the other person does not reply straight away, like right now with me on msn.

IN the OLD days, like 7 years ago, there was no expectation of immediate response. kids were only just starting to be introduced to mobile phones, the sms phenomnon had yet to begin and the internet was slow and annoying. Now i cant even meet up with anyone and have a normal converstation with out being interupted by someone through sms or voice call.

thoughts to be continued...........

by the way i am a hypocrite
and this is also a perfect example of time compression, expect everything quicker

i need some YOUR opinion

so i thought this was a wicked idea at the start
but no so sure now. so i need your opinion. the
light is called "a light for monsters on a slight
kilter"

the monsters bit comes from the height of the
switches, explination; monster heights because
monsters are always really tall or really small.

the kilter thing is obviously because it aint
straight. the lamp is supposed to go up to the
ceiling, so it is almost a ceiling light (2.5m or so).

there you go

Feedback?

This isn't the design that was chosen for this client - I will post that when it has gone to print etc etc and has been "launched" - but this was the alternative design (which I think *pause* I prefer). What do you guys think? My boss came up with the tag line, 'with a twist' because they offer really far out colours and designs for their product (exclusively brass beds), and they are assembled by twisting the components together. The round things are swing tags (front and back) for the beds as he sells to the retailer (captn snooze, sleepymaker, or whatever they're called), so this is the main avenue which the company actually interacts with the end user. Most of the time, it has to attract the retailers. Anyways I like the idea of the brass band and instruments - I tried for identity being just a guy sitting on a chair playing the tuba, that would really make you pay attention... anyways so you can see where the inspiration for the type and brand identity came from. would people recognise this? do you? would you remember this? etc etc. Gimme a sentence.
